UGC in collaboration with the IKS Division of Ministry of Education has planned to organize a six-day short term face to face training programme for 1000 teachers at six HRDCs in the next four months (July-October 2023)

UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, University of Kashmir is at present organizing a webinar series of online lectures on “COVID-19 AND MENTAL HEATLH” that is primarily aimed at training the teachers about the mental health issues of students particularly during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, University of Kashmir is going to organize a webinar series of online lectures on “COVID-19 AND MENTAL HEATLH” for college and university teachers of Jammu and Kashmir.

Week-long e-Faculty Development Programme (e-FDP) on Cloud Computing will be organized by the UGC-HRDC, University of Kashmir from July 20-25, 2020 for Computer Science, Engineering and IT faculty. Fourth lecture in the International Webinar Series initiated by UGC-HRDC, University of Kashmir last month will be delivered by Dr. Tasaduq Hussain Mir of the Department of Family and Community Medicine, UT Southwestern Medical Centre, Dallas, USA on July 28th (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. (IST) on a very interesting and important topic, "Social Prescribing: Transforming doctor-patient relationship".

UGC-HRDC, University of Kashmir will organize International webinar series lecture-III on July 20th, 2020 at 7.30 pm (IST) that will be delivered by Dr. Sadaf Munshi, Professor and Chair, Dept. of Linguistics, College of Information, University of North Texas, USA on the topic, "Writing proposals for research grants".

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences initiated an international webinar series lecture-I on June 28th, 2020 in collaboration with UGC-HRDC, University of Kashmir, that was delivered by Prof. Zaheer-Ud-Din Babar, Professor of Medicines and Healthcare and Chair, Centre of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice Research at the University of Huddersfield, UK on the topic, "Systematic reviews and meta-analysis: a viable alternative to experimental research in times of COVID-19".

UGC-HRDC is going to conduct Two Week Refresher Course in Science w.e.f. December 16, 2019

Valedictory function of the three week long General Orientation Course was organized by the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, University of Kashmir on Tuesday. It was presided over by Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir whereas Prof. Mushtaq A. Siddiqi, Vice-Chancellor, IUST was the Guest of Honour on this occasion.

Dr. Nyla Ali Khan is a Visiting Professor at the University of Oklahoma and Rose State College, and former professor at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. She is the author of four books, including The Fiction of Nationality in an Era of Trans-nationalism and Islam, Women, and Violence in Kashmir: Between Indian and Pakistan, and several articles that focus heavily on the political issues and strife of her homeland, Jammu and Kashmir, India.

Dr. Sadaf Munshi will do a presentation about professional and academic writing. In doing so, she will talk about different types of professional writing, their various aspects, and some key questions and concerns to consider in professional and academic writing which can help improve the quality of our writing and its outcomes in professional and academic fields.

A talk by Mr. Talat Parvez Rohella, Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, J&K state has been scheduled for the participants of 83rd General Orientation Course on July 25th (Thursday), 2019 at 2 pm at UGC-HRDC, University of Kashmir. Talk will mainly focus upon the challenges and prospects in higher education sector of India with special reference to J&K state. A reference is also likely to be made to the draft National Education Policy.

As part of efforts of the HRDC, University of Kashmir and objectives of the General Orientation Courses to enhance awareness among the participants about preservation of forests, environment and ecology, a lecture has been scheduled by Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir, Syed Farooq Ahmad Gillani on July 22nd (Monday), 2019 at 2 p.m. Importance of afforestation, green cover and conservation of forests shall be highlighted during the talk.
