UGC-HRDC, University of Kashmir will organize International webinar series lecture-III on July 20th, 2020 at 7.30 pm (IST) that will be delivered by Dr. Sadaf Munshi, Professor and Chair, Dept. of Linguistics, College of Information, University of North Texas, USA on the topic, "Writing proposals for research grants".
Dr. Sadaf Munshi received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006. She works in the areas of historical and comparative linguistics, language contact, language documentation, and grammatical analysis and theory. Among the courses that she teaches are Historical Linguistics, Phonology, Field Methods, World Englishes, History of English Language, Language Contact, and Gypsy Language and Culture. Her research focuses on Indo-Aryan languages (e.g. Hindi, Urdu, Kashmiri, and Romani or "Gypsy" language) and Burushaski. Munshi was born and raised in Kashmir (India) where she received most of her earlier education (including a BS in Biosciences). Before coming to the United States, she pursued a Master of Arts degree and a Master of Philosophy degree in Linguistics from the University of Delhi. Besides linguistics, she likes traveling, reading, writing, and painting. Her research interests include Language documentation of Burushaski (and other South Asian languages); historical and comparative linguistics, language contact.
